The sterilizer is heated with gas or electric stove, and the exhaust valve is opened to exhaust the cold air. Otherwise, the pressure shown on the pressure gauge is not all steam pressure, and the sterilization will be incomplete.

After all the cold air is discharged (that is, when the water vapor is continuously discharged from the exhaust valve), close the exhaust valve. Continue heating, and when the pressure gauge gradually rises to the required pressure (usually 101.53 kPa, I .e. 15 psi, and the temperature is 121.3 ℃), adjust the furnace fire, maintain the pressure and temperature (pay attention to the pressure not to be too large to avoid accidents), and maintain for 15~30 min. After the sterilization time arrives, stop heating, when the pressure drops to zero, slowly open the exhaust valve, eliminate the residual gas, open the lid to take things. Do not suddenly open the exhaust valve when the pressure has not been reduced to zero, so as to avoid the liquid in the sterilizer.
